On Saturday, February 9, 2008 a diverse crowd of over 100 residents from throughout Western Fairfax County joined together outside Jackson Middle School to protest an unpopular school redistricting proposal. After a forty-five minute demonstration, the group assembled inside the auditorium to show their support for speakers from affected communities who had come to address the school board. Dressed in yellow shirts, the group dominated the hearing with compelling data, persuasive logic and moving personal stories, many ending in the same refrain: Our Kids, Our Schools, Our Choice!
