Invitation to Observe Court Proceedings

July 1, 2008

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Thank you for all your hard work, your donations, and most of all, your support.  This week you may have read in the paper that we’ve reached our fundraising goal.  In fact, we raised over $100,000 since the School Board decision on February 28, 2008, for the legal challenge to the redistricting action.

Now, we are off to the courtroom.  I wanted to take this opportunity to invite you to join us at the hearing on Thursday, July 3, 2008.  For those of you who haven’t spent a lot of time in court, just a few quick reminders.  We really want to be on time.  Court begins at 10:00.  Feel free to bring your student 7th grade and higher with you.  Younger children may have difficulty with patience in the courtroom.  Please remind your student that we must remain quiet no matter what is said in court and should leave our cell phones in the car.  Finally, my years as a legal assistant has taught me that we need to dress appropriately:  business attire for the adults or uniforms if your student is a Scout.  No flip flops or tank tops for the kids.

Below is information about our court date.  Give me a call if you have any questions and stay tuned for updates on all our summer CAPS activities.
