“My eighth-grade daughter and I were there for 2 hours last night and heard your clear and convincing statement. Thank you so much for all the efforts you and all CAPS members made. After attending last two CAPS meetings at Fox Mill E.S., I'm grateful that FCPS initiates this clumsy boundary study. I find POWER at the time of ADVERSITY, for our community as well as for individual. For Community, it gives us an opportunity to unite as ONE and to know each other. For individual, I saw many residents who are immigrants and never dare to speak to public officers or at any public venue. Now they break the barrier and try their best to present at the public hearing. I admire their courage!”

"Those against redistricting have been accused of being 'racist, bigoted and prejudiced' for not wanting to go to South Lakes High School. The issue has never been about race. Instead, this accusation is a distraction method used by FCPS staff and board members to divert community knowledge and understanding away from the real issues at South Lakes... programmatic issues. Simply moving students to manipulate test scores and free-and-reduced lunch percentages is not a responsible solution to the real issues that have created an exodus of students out of South Lakes High School. ”
